Connor Yonkers

Pastor Connor serves as the Youth and Young Adult Pastor at Markham Woods SDA Church. He grew up in rural Maryland in the city of Hagerstown, where he was born and raised. He is the oldest of two brothers; one younger and one being a twin. Connor felt his calling while he was working at the Review & Herald and started seeking to understand the depths of scripture. Accepting God’s call to share the Good News, he moved to Chattanooga, TN where he studied theology and fell in love with Jesus. Later, he received and accepted the call to work for the Florida Conference.

He loves spending time outdoors, traveling to new places, and has a huge passion for creativity. He has played guitar since he was 8 years old and has used his musical abilities for God from high school through college. He loves photography, trying new food, reading books, and spending time with those who mean the most to him. But most of all, Connor loves to share the Gospel to all who come in contact with him.

Connor believes that all people have the basic desire to be loved and have a place of belonging. His biggest passion is to help all to experience this love by pointing them to the cross, in which the Son of God revealed the fullness of the Father’s love for us. Connor also wants all to discover their true identity; which is that they are indeed a child of God.

“My favorite part of ministry is that moment when I’m teaching someone that they are a child of God, and it finally clicks in their head what that means for them! I don’t think there is anything in this world more fulfilling then that moment. Seeing someone go from having no hope to having a flame the size of a mustard seed ignite in their hearts burning with faith. From a frown of despair to a smile on their face knowing that theirs is the Kingdom. Nothing gets better than that!”
