What makes a church attractive? The building? The landscape? The programming? None of these identities were present at the beginning of the Christian church, yet 3,000 people were added to the church roster in one baptism. Reading through the New testament reveals several traits of “the church” that made it attractive then and now as well. The one word we could use to describe this experience is “koinonia,” which means “fellowship.” The church organization can be powerful, or just another building.
